Some Spanish visa, residency or renewal applications may ask for proof that the health insurance has been paid or activated. This may be called a receipt, proof of payment, paid invoice, payment confirmation or insurer confirmation. If your instructions mention payment proof, check this before submitting your file. For the full guide, see certificate and receipt.
The certificate confirms what is covered; the receipt or proof of payment confirms it is paid or active. A useful receipt usually shows the policyholder or applicant name, insurer or broker name, amount paid, payment date, policy reference and payment period. If you only have a certificate, some applications may still want payment proof; if you only have a receipt, you may also need a certificate showing the cover details. See also proof of insurance.
Annual payment gives clear full-period proof; monthly payment may show only payments so far — see annual payment and monthly payment. Receipts are most often raised for the NLV and Student Visa, and each family applicant may need their own documents. If your deadline is close, get urgent help.
